The Russian parliament has approved a new law further restricting the rights of the country’s LGBTQ community. Duma lawmakers unanimously approved legislation banning all forms of what it calls ‘propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations’. The bill expands a previous law that banned positive depictions of such relationships to underage people.

As a recognised nuclear-weapon state, the country possesses the world’s largest stockpile of nuclear weapons.
