South China Morning Post published this video item, entitled “‘Rug hunters’ devote lives to search for Afghanistan’s last antique tribal carpets” – below is their description.
Chari Allahqul has been devoted to searching for Afghanistan’s antique rugs since he was a child. The carpets are a traditional craft made by the country’s nomadic tribes. The mats could take “rug hunters” months to find and the journey to find them can even be dangerous. However, the hunt for the hand-woven carpets has become increasingly difficult in recent years as many nomadic tribes have abandoned their family-run looms.
