The Royal Thai Navy (RTN) corvette HTMS Sukhothai (FS-442) sank in the Gulf of Thailand at around 00:12 a.m. local time on Monday, the RTN spokesperson admiral Pokkrong Monthatpalin said. A total of 106 crew were on board. The strong waves caused water to enter the ship’s electrical systems, resulting in power failure and loss of control, while water entering the hull resulted in the ship tilting. By noon on Monday, 75 sailors had been rescued, and 31 others were still missing, according to the RTN statement posted on its Twitter account. #Thailand
