Ronnie Russell is a hero by royal appointment. 46 years ago he fought off men who were trying to kidnap Princess Anne near Buckingham Palace. They shot at him. He punched back shielding the Princess from harm. He was awarded the George medal for his bravery. Now with worries about his family’s future he is having to auction that medal off. The Queen said at the time – she wanted to thank him – not as a Queen, but as a mother.
