Australian running legend Rob de Castella has joined with the Australian Army for Run Army, a new initiative to promote health and wellbeing amongst soldiers.

Today’s charity run at the Gallipoli Barracks in Brisbane has raised more than $41,000 for Legacy Australia, which supports veterans’ families to carry on after the death or injury of a loved one.

“My grandfather was actually knighted for his work with Legacy, and for me, now, to be able to come along here and acknowledge what he did … is something that makes me really proud to be able to do as well.” – Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist, Rob de Castella.
