Rights group says Chile must stop summary deportation of Venezuelan migrants

Al Jazeera English published this video item, entitled “Rights group says Chile must stop summary deportation of Venezuelan migrants” – below is their description.

Human Rights Watch says Chile is deporting hundreds of undocumented Venezuelan migrants without giving many of them the right to due process, including access to a lawyer.

It argues this is inconsistent with the need to help Venzuelan migrants fleeing what Chile’s president describes as a dictatorship.

More than five million Venezuelans have left home as economic and social conditions there have worsened.

Al Jazeera’s Lucia Newman reports from Santiago, Chile.
