Rex Tillerson: US not seeking regime change in North Korea

US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has said Washington is not trying to topple Kim Jong un’s regime in North Korea, but Pyongyang must halt its nuclear missile programme.

Tillerson added that the US would be willing to talk to North Korea if it accepts to disarm.

His tone and message differs from the president’s, who is said to be considering military action to stop Pyongyang’s missile programme.

Al Jazeera’s Patty Culhane reports from Washington.
