Dame Margaret Hodge has criticised new rules that allow MPs to vote virtually but not participate in debates about legislation, calling them “discriminatory”.
Barred from even attending a debate about virtual access, she said: “I’m being disenfranchised and discriminated against on a debate that is discussing my disenfranchisement and discrimination.”
She is one of several MPs in the ‘shielding’ category.
