South China Morning Post published this video item, entitled “Restaurants set up near residential compounds as Beijing’s Covid restrictions ban dine-in service” – below is their description.
Parts of Beijing are under lockdown to control the city’s recent outbreaks of Covid-19, with the Chinese capital confirming 1,420 cases since April 22, 2022. Dine-in service has been banned at restaurants, so some eateries have set up stalls near residential compounds to sell takeaway to customers. Some parts of the city are not under lockdown, but authorities are urging residents in those areas to work from home and avoid unnecessary travel. However, not everyone is heeding those calls.
