Global News published this video item, entitled “Researchers develop new brain cancer chemotherapy that doesn’t kill healthy cells” – below is their description.
Researchers with the University of Saskatchewan have developed a new method of killing brain cancer cells that doesn’t kill the healthy cells surrounding them.
The new chemotherapy procedure allows a drug to be delivered directly to a tumour. It might be another option for chemotherapy treatment of brain cancer.
The technique involves long needles placed through the skull into a tumour, while sending electrical current pulses into it.
Dr. Mike Moser thinks these findings will mean treatment without opening people up to treat them. Emily-May Simmonds shares their findings.
