Global News published this video item, entitled “Rescue team frees whale stranded in London’s River Thames” – below is their description.

A rescue team worked into the night on Sunday to free a small whale, believed to be a minke, found stranded in the River Thames in southwest London.

A small crowd of people gathered to watch as the team worked to remove the whale from the lock, hosing it down, and then putting a large yellow float around it, video footage showed.

After four hours, the whale was successfully removed and moved to a safer location. It will be assessed by a vet to ensure it is healthy enough to be released in the ocean, local media reported.
