The legal troubles continue to be deepening for former U.S. president Donald Trump weeks after an FBI search of his Florida home over taken classified documents.
Trump’s lawyers on Monday asked a federal judge to prevent the FBI from continuing to review documents recovered from his Florida estate earlier this month until a neutral special master can be appointed, citing the documents taken from the residence were “presumptively” covered by executive privilege.
As Reggie Cecchini reports, Republicans are rallying more Republican support behind Trump despite the controversy, which could play a pivotal role in the approaching U.S. midterm elections and beyond.
