Sky News Australia published this video item, entitled “Release of British-Australian academic in Iran has come at a price: Clennell” – below is their description.
Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says the release of Kylie Moore-Gilbert from an Iranian prison after two and a half years has not come without a price. Mr Clennell said it would be a real relief to her family and friends, as well as to all Australians, but pointed to a prisoner swap that had allegedly occurred to secure the release of Ms Moore-Gilbert. “There appears to have been an ugly hostage swap with reports three Iranians accused of terrorism in Thailand have been returned home,” he said. “Here is Kylie Moore-Gilbert in uncomfortable Iranian footage upon her release, describing the fact she went to a Zionist country on the way through, rather than saying Israel. As her statement says, it was a long and traumatic ordeal. “Scott Morrison did the round of TV interviews this morning but did not want to discuss the hostage swap scenario at all. “At a later press conference, the PM said it would not be in Australia’s interests in the future to reveal such detail. “He also repeated his election-winning line that he believed in miracles, basically saying this was a miracle.”
