Amid Russia’s military operation in #Ukraine, there’s growing concern over the humanitarian crisis, the worst in Europe since World War II. Over six million #refugees have fled to neighboring countries since the conflict started and the number is still rising. Poland hosted the most of the refugees, while other European countries are providing them with aid. The worst humanitarian situation is reported from the southern port city of Mariupol – desperate for food, water and medicine. Kyiv says the situation there is “catastrophic” and Russia’s military operation has turned a city once home to 450,000 people “into dust.” CGTN’s Tian Wei talks about the overall situation with Peter Maurer, president of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
