Australia has reported a record 502 new COVID-19 cases, overtaking a peak set in March. In most states and territories the virus actually seems to be under control. In New South Wales, officials are nervously eyeing daily cases and warning the public not to be complacent. But in Victoria infections continue to be worryingly despite the agony of a second lockdown. Prof. Raina MacIntyre and Prof. James McCaw discuss what is going on.
