Record grapefruit-size hailstones smash windscreens in Queensland, Australia

The Telegraph published this video item, entitled “Record grapefruit-size hailstones smash windscreens in Queensland, Australia” – below is their description.

Freak storms across the east coast of Australia have damaged buildings and pounded cities with hail the size of grapefruit.

The largest hailstone ever to fall in Australia – a whopping 6.3 inches in diameter – was recorded in Queensland after heavy storms hammered the region on Tuesday afternoon.

The previous record was 5.5 inches.

Australia has been lashed by wild weather in recent days, with a rare tornado recorded across northern New South Wales earlier this week.
