CGTN published this video item, entitled “Rare parhelion spotted in SW China’s Chongqing” – below is their description.
For more:
“Two suns” were recently seen in Chongqing’s Nanchuan District. The sighting was actually an atmospheric optical phenomenon known as a “parhelion” which occurs when hexagonal ice crystals in the atmosphere refract sunlight and form a halo around the sun. It can only be observed from a right angle and with the presence of thin and transparent cirrostratus clouds.
