Global News published this video item, entitled “Rally held in Minneapolis ahead of anniversary of George Floyd’s death” – below is their description.
Civil rights leaders and activists held a rally Sunday in Minneapolis, Minn., called “One Year, What’s Changed?” to commemorate the first anniversary of the death of George Floyd, who died on May 25, 2020 after an encounter with police.
Bridgett Floyd, George’s sister, told the crowd it had been a frustrating year, adding their lives had changed “within the blink of an eye.”
“It has been a long year. It has been a painful year,” she said.
Rev. Al Sharpton also remarked on the recent conviction of former police officer Derek Chauvin, found guilty of murder last month, saying that conviction was not enough and they needed “federal legislation” surrounding law enforcement.
