Thousands of people have taken part in a huge civil rights rally in Washington, to demand racial justice and an end to police brutality. The march is taking place on the anniversary of the speech made by Martin Luther King in 1963, which galvanised the civil rights movement. It follows renewed protests over the police shooting of Jacob Blake in Wisconsin earlier this week, and in the wake of the police killing of George Floyd in May. President Trump did not address today’s protests, after launching his election campaign last night by attacking what he called anarchists and agitators. Clive Myrie presents reports by our correspondent Barbara Plett Usher and our North America editor Jon Sopel.
