Queensland’s mask mandate will remain in place until Friday 16 July despite another encouraging day for health authorities.

The state recorded one new local COVID case overnight, a person in home quarantine connected to cases in Brisbane’s south east, but Chief Health Officer Dr Jeannette Young says it’s important for Queenslanders to keep wearing masks after the recent outbreak.

“I know they’re really uncomfortable. I don’t know about you, but my glasses continually fog up, but they’re so important.”
