The Queensland Teachers’ Union has called for the state’s teachers to receive priority for COVID-19 vaccines.
It comes after a student at Indooroopilly State High School in Brisbane’s inner-west tested positive overnight.
“Our members are frontline workers, they’re essential workers and they come into close contact with a lot of people. As a result of that, we call on the State Government to make sure that our teachers are a priority working group for the vaccine rollout.” – QTU President, Cresta Richardson.
