Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says there were no new cases of COVID-19 in the state after a highly transmissible new strain of the virus was found in the community. However, Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young says a case that had been confirmed in Victoria had moved up to Queensland and the genome sequence result had come back and she was positive for the UK variant. She arrived into Victoria on 26 December flying in from the UK. Dr Young says the case is considered very low risk.
