Sky News Australia published this video item, entitled “Queensland expected to announce border decision with Victoria” – below is their description.
The Queensland Government is today expected to announce whether it will reopen the border with Victoria as the southern state moves toward the 28-day requirement for zero new infections. Victorians will likely be able to enter Queensland from December 1 – when the Sunshine State also reopens to Greater Sydney residents. Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk yesterday said the borders would only be closed again in the case of a major coronavirus outbreak but said determining what constituted an outbreak was up to the chief health officer. Chief Health Officer Dr Jeannette Young – when probed on the matter – said she could only judge it on a case by case basis. The Queensland government will move to adopt the national approach to hotspots. Ms Palaszczuk also flagged some sort of border pass system may remain in place due to South Australia’s ongoing hotspot declaration.
