A snap lockdown in Queensland’s south east will be extended after another big jump in the number of COVID cases was recorded. On Monday, Deputy Premier Steven Miles confirmed there had been thirteen new local cases, meaning the current outbreak of the Delta strain had grown to 31. Due to the outbreak, 11 council areas across the state’s south east were ordered into a three-day hard lockdown on Saturday. Miles said there has been no other choice but to extend it to last for eight days.
