Queensland: ‘closed one day, open the next’

Sky News Australia published this video item, entitled “Queensland: ‘closed one day, open the next’” – below is their description.

Annastacia Palaszczuk and Jeannette Young appeared to say that it would take a major outbreak in another state for Queensland’s borders to shut again, according to Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell. From December 1 Queensland will be open to all of New South Wales, the premier announced on Tuesday. “We will always listen to the AHPPC advice and the advice of Dr Young,” Ms Palaszczuk said. “It absolutely depends but you would have seen in South Australia how seriously they took that outbreak and the restrictions they put in place. There are so many variables here,” Dr Young said. “Each particular case has got to be looked at on its merits and work out what the risk is to Queensland.” “I guess the concern there is South Australia over one week was just 27 cases, and I guess Jeannette Young saying you could close with just 27 cases over a week,” Mr Clennell said. Mr Clennell also expects Premier Palaszczuk to make a border decision regarding Victoria on Wednesday.
