Qatar has just announced a series of reforms to its labour laws.
The country has set a new minimum wage of QAR 1,000 ($274) plus QAR 500 ($137) for accommodation and QAR 300 ($82) for food if those expenses are not provided as part of the contract, regardless of nationality or the type of job.
It also gives workers the ability to change employers without needing their sponsor’s approval.
