A technical issue left Vladimir Putin looking bemused as he was about to address a summit of world leaders.

The glitch meant Emmanuel Macron’s contribution to the climate meeting was cut short.

The Russian president then appeared on screen – but left everyone hanging for 90 seconds while the issue was solved.

The climate event was convened by the United States and was the first in a series culminating in COP26 in the UK.
