In tonight’s edition: protests continue in Johannesburg as demonstrators demand better housing; police surround the opposition’s headquarters in Kinshasa; and scientists discover that an ancient human species may have roamed the earth alongside our ancestors.
Rioters and police clash in a second day of violent protests in Johannesburg. Demonstrators in South Africa’s townships are demanding better housing and more access to social services.
Also, riot police surround the main opposition’s HQ in DR Congo in what the party says is an attempt to block the construction of a tomb for their deceased leader in Kinshasa.
And fossils unearthed in South Africa suggest that an ancient human species may have roamed the earth alongside homo sapiens.
