Protests outside White House as RNC ends with fireworks

After delivering his speech from the White House, U.S. President Donald Trump closed the Republican National Convention with a massive display of fireworks over the Washington Monument. Meanwhile, large crowds of protesters filled the streets near the White House. Demonstrators had signs supporting Black Lives Matter and criticizing Trump’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic, which has killed over 180,000 people so far in the U.S.
