Protests erupt in Los Angeles on Monday (August 31) after Dijon Kizzee, a 29-year-old Black man, was shot by police officers from South Los Angeles Sheriff”s Station. According to Los Angeles Times, Kizzee struck a deputy in the face in the incident Monday afternoon, dropping a gun in the process and prompting the officers to reply the attack and fatally shooting him. The code violation that provoked the initial traffic stop of Kizzee has not been confirmed by Sheriff’s officials, according to CBSLA. The case is now under investigation and according to Los Angeles Sheriff’s Office none of the deputies was wearing a body camera.
