At least 30 protesters were detained during massive pro-democracy demonstrations in Peru, with multiple reports of heavy-handed treatment of largely peaceful attendees. The health ministry reported two protesters were killed and more than 30 people were being treated for injuries on Saturday after nearly a week of unrest over the controversial removal of Martín Vizcarra as president.
