Energy policy has long been a battleground within the Coalition. This week it emerged the Morrison Government vetoed public funding of a windfarm and battery project in North Queensland, saying it was inconsistent with its objectives.
Meanwhile a separate project in North Queensland, this one involving a coal plant, is under scrutiny after the Morrison Government awarded its owner millions of dollars.
The Auditor-General is highly critical of the grant process, finding there’s a risk the company won’t complete the work.
