Project Headstone volunteers upgrade forgotten WWI veterans’ graves | ABC News

ABC News (Australia) published this video item, entitled “Project Headstone volunteers upgrade forgotten WWI veterans’ graves | ABC News” – below is their description.

Almost 60 years ago Cornelius ‘George’ Hardwick was buried in a simple grave in Oatlands that would never have suggested that he risked his life for his country in WW1. Project Headstone has been finding graves like this for the last decade and been upgrading them. The Project estimates that there are still hundreds more graves of WW1 veterans around Tasmania that need replacing, and somewhere between 12,000 and 15,000 around the country.
