Former Chief of the General Staff Lord Dannatt has told Sky News that Home Secretary Priti Patel should take “no pride” over the “unnecessary” withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan.

His comments come on the first anniversary of the Taliban takeover of Kabul which led to the sudden mass evacuation of thousands of displaced Afghans.
