British Prime Minister Boris Johnson paid tribute to Prince Philip who died at age 99, which was announced earlier on Friday by Buckingham Palace.

“We give thanks as a nation and a kingdom to the extraordinary life and work of Prince Philip,” he said outside 10 Downing Street.

Johnson said the Duke of Edinburgh helped “steer the Royal Family” and said the nation’s thoughts “must turn” to the Queen and her family.
