Following the announcement of the birth of William and Kate’s first child, this evening, The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall issued a statement telling of their delight at the birth of their first grandchild.
The Prince of Wales said:
“Both my wife and I are overjoyed at the arrival of my first grandchild. It is an incredibly special moment for William and Catherine and we are so thrilled for them on the birth of their baby boy.
Grandparenthood is a unique moment in anyone’s life, as countless kind people have told me in recent months, so I am enormously proud and happy to be a grandfather for the first time and we are eagerly looking forward to seeing the baby in the near future.”
It remains to be seen what names the family give to the new-born boy which arrived during the evening of Monday 22 July 2013. The baby is third in line to the British throne, after Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, and His Royal Highness Prince William of Cambridge.
