Pride at 50: Original protesters return to where it all began

GBNews published this video item, entitled “Pride at 50: Original protesters return to where it all began” – below is their description.

It’s 50 years since the Gay Liberation Front marched through central London, demanding equality, visibility and acceptance. Around 500 people took to the streets on the 1st of July 1972.

One could not have foreseen just how far gay rights would come in 50 years, nor how far the march itself would grow in confidence. But with equal marriage, an equal age of consent and many other rights and freedoms some argue that Pride is now just one big party.

To celebrate the anniversary, some of the original protesters returned to where it all began, to remember Pride’s past – and to discuss its future.
