The President of Poland, Bronislaw Komorowski has visited Bethlehem today as part of a three day state visit to Israel.
President Komorowski met with the leader of the Palestinian National Authority and underlined the commitment of Poland to the two-state solution and to continuing development assistance for the Palestinian people.
In an earlier meeting with the Israeli President, Shimon Peres, Komorowski highlighted the similar experiences of statehood faced by Israel and Poland as well as the sensitivities of the Polish people to anti-Semitism. He outlined a bright future of co-operation between the two countries.
As part of the day’s visit, President Komorowski also visited the Basilica of the Nativity.
