Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on Thursday paid a visit to southwest China’s Chongqing Municipality, which is presently battling the worst floods in decades caused by heavy downpours.
Li went to visit the temporary shelters for locals from Shuangba Village of Chongqing’s Tongnan District, home to over 8,000. According to local reports, farms alongside the village were completely destroyed due to the floods.
The Party and the government will assist everyone in this hard time, Li told locals. “Everyone needs to fight this disaster hand in hand. Having no casualties will be our biggest victory,” he said.
