While there are discussions on new power regulations in China, residents in northeastern China are experiencing power cuts as an electricity shortage that initially hit factories spreads to homes. Brownouts are widening amid rising coal prices as local governments push to enforce environmental regulations. The power crunch has also affected more than a dozen provinces. Could new environmental regulations seriously affect the power supply in China?
