#China and #Portugal have enjoyed sound and solid relations since both countries established diplomatic ties in 1979. Both countries have done a lot to strengthen bilateral ties in spite of differences in historical backgrounds and social systems. The Portuguese president said that relations between Portugal and China will continue to serve as a unique model for countries with different political systems and cultures to live in harmony. Now China is Portugal’s largest trading partner in Asia, and Portugal is also one of the Western countries to have signed an MOU on the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
