Poland: Former president joins protests against courts reforms

Poland’s former president Lech Walesa has warned that democratic advances made since communism ended will be destroyed if controversial reforms to the legal system go ahead.

Walesa is one of tens of thousands of Poles who have been demonstrating against Parliament’s decision to approve a bill that gives politicians the power to remove judges.
