PM’s father Stanley Johnson defends Greece visit, saying he had to make the villa ‘covid-proof’

The father of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said he was wanting a ‘quiet time’ after being criticised after reportedly travelling via Bulgaria to visit his Greek holiday home.

Speaking outside his villa in Pilio on Friday, Stanley said “I’ve got a whole lot of instructions about how to make the place covid, covid-proof.”

Stanley Johnson has been accused of breaching British Foreign Office guidance to avoid non-essential travel.

Boris Johnson has not condemned nor criticised his father, telling British radio station LBC on Friday that he wasn’t willing to discuss private family matters.
