While many industries are recovering from the impact of the Covid lockdown, some are still highly dependent on the Job Retention Scheme and some struggling families are still relying on Universal Credit.

Travel agency owner Steve Pattenden’s voice trembled as he told ITV News he could not afford to keep his staff after furlough ends.

Brahim Rarbi, a single dad, spoke about his “pain” and pleaded to the government to keep the £20 Universal Credit uplift.
