South China Morning Post published this video item, entitled “Philippines to raise age of sexual consent from 12 to 16” – below is their description.
The Philippines is set to lift the age of sexual consent from 12 to 16. The country has one of the world’s lowest ages for sexual consent with the current law allowing adults to legally have sex with children as young as 12. Campaigners said the proposed bill would help protect youngsters in a nation that has become a global hotspot for online child sex abuse. It is expected to be approved by the Senate in the coming months.
