Authorities in the Philippines are reimposing lockdowns in targeted areas from March 17, 2021, as well as a two-week nighttime curfew across Metro Manila starting on March 15. The orders are going into effect after the nation recorded 5,400 cases, the highest single-day number of Covid-19 infections in the country, on March 15. On the same day, Philippine presidential spokesman Harry Roque tested positive for the virus.
