A strong earthquake set off landslides and damaged buildings in the northern Philippines island of Luzon on Wednesday, killing at least five people and injuring dozens.
Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. assured the public on Wednesday the government will continue with rescue and relief efforts, while blocked roads and damaged structures were being cleared by the local government.
The powerful 7.1 magnitude earthquake struck the northern Philippine island of Luzon on Wednesday, damaging buildings and sending strong tremors through the capital, Manila. At least 60 people were injured, according to an official.
