Broadway: Anti-lockdown demonstrators trying to rally in the city have been arrested by NSW Police today.

Yesterday police warned people that more than 1,400 officers would be deployed to provide a highly visible presence across Sydney to prevent, disrupt and respond to plans for large public gatherings.

A staggering 825 new COVID-19 infections were announced for New South Wales today – the daily case numbers were the highest announced by any state or territory in Australia since the start of the pandemic.
