    Peng Liyuan, who is a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) special envoy for the advancement of girls and women’s education and the wife of Chinese President Xi Jinping, has called for more cooperation on women’s education and poverty reduction among Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member countries. She made the remarks during a video speech at a forum to promote communication among women from SCO member countries held in Beijing on July 20. She said there are still 435 million women living in poverty around the world.
