Pelosi Vows to Move Jan. 6 Commission Forward Despite GOP ‘Antics’

Bloomberg Quicktake: Now published this video item, entitled “Pelosi Vows to Move Jan. 6 Commission Forward Despite GOP ‘Antics'” – below is their description.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says the rejection of two Republicans to be on a committee investigating the Jan. 6 Captiol insurrection is about “not wasting time” when we need the find the truth for the American people.

The two Republicans were tapped by House GOP leader Kevin McCarthy to sit on the committee.

McCarthy denounced the decision Wednesday as “an egregious abuse of power” and said the GOP wouldn’t participate in the investigation if Democrats won’t accept the members he appointed.

Pelosi cited the “integrity” of the probe in refusing to accept the appointments of Indiana Rep. Jim Banks or Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan.

The two men are outspoken allies of former President Donald Trump, whose supporters laid siege to the Capitol that day and interrupted the certification of President Joe Biden’s win.

“These people are going to act up, cause a problem, and people said to me, put them on and then when they act up, you can take them off. I said, why should we waste time on something as predictable?” said Pelosi.

“When statements are ridiculous and fall into the realm of you must be kidding. There’s no way that they’re going to be on the committeee.”
